Largest Peer-Reviewed Study on Off-Label Ivermectin + Mebendazole in Cancer Treatment Published in Anticancer Research Journal
The Wellness Company has announced a first-of-its-kind human observational study on the off-label use of Ivermectin and Mebendazole in the treatment of cancer, published this week in the Anticancer Research Journal — a major international oncology publication of the International Institute of Anticancer Research, established in 1995.
The study analyzed 197 cancer patients prescribed compounded oral capsules containing 25 mg of ivermectin and 250 mg of mebendazole off-label. After six months, participants reported an 84% Clinical Benefit Ratio — with 48% reporting regression or no evidence of cancer, and 36% reporting disease stability. Only 15.6% of participants reported disease progression.
The manuscript was authored by Dr. Peter McCullough, Nicolas Hulscher MPH, Dr. Kelly Victory, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Dr. James Thorp, Peter Gillooly MSc, and Dr. Harvey Risch.
"In this first of its kind human observational analysis, off-label use of Ivermectin+Mebendazole showed a remarkable 84% Clinical Benefit Ratio in the treatment of cancer. These results indicate that the inexpensive and safe off-label applications of these medications could be an important breakthrough in the treatment of cancer."
— Dr. Peter McCullough, Chief Scientific Officer, The Wellness CompanyWhy Real-World Observational Studies Matter
This publication makes it the largest peer-reviewed human study on the use of Ivermectin + Mebendazole in the treatment of cancer. Co-author Nicolas Hulscher, MPH, emphasized the significance of this approach: real-world observational studies are incredibly important because they most accurately reflect how Ivermectin+Mebendazole are used in practical applications.
In this prospective real-world cohort, the combination was associated with high rates of self-reported clinical benefit, with nearly half of participants reporting tumor regression or no current evidence of disease across a heterogeneous population of cancer patients — providing a compelling clinical signal that these well-tolerated, repurposed agents may offer therapeutic benefit.
The Case for Drug Repurposing in Cancer Care
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death globally. Conventional treatments — including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted agents — are frequently limited by significant toxicity, high cost, development of resistance, and variable long-term efficacy.
In recent years, significant attention has been drawn to the rise of aggressive cancers — particularly among younger Americans — in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, drug repurposing has gained substantial attention as a strategy to rapidly identify effective and affordable therapeutic options using medications with well-established safety profiles.
"Prior to this data, ivermectin and mebendazole have demonstrated highly promising anti-cancer activity in preclinical models. This analysis was conducted to assess real-world self-reported cancer outcomes, medication adherence, tolerability, and patient experience among individuals prescribed ivermectin and mebendazole."
— Dr. Kelly Victory, MD, Cancer Survivor & Co-Designer of the AnalysisA Call for Further Investigation
Following the positive results of this report, the authors emphasize that much more analysis needs to be done. Dr. Harvey Risch, Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health and Chair of the President's Cancer Panel at the National Cancer Institute, stated the findings reveal an exciting new potential that should expand consideration of ivermectin and mebendazole for inclusion in the treatment of multiple cancer types — and called for urgent, full-fledged scientific investigation into this class of medications.
Authors' Conclusion
- Given the observational design and reliance on self-reported outcomes, findings should be interpreted as hypothesis-generating
- Potential for selection bias and uncontrolled confounding must be acknowledged
- Urgent prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials are warranted to validate these observations
- Further research is needed to define optimal dosing strategies
