Can I use ROOTS Hydrogel if I color my hair?
Yes, you can use ROOTS Hydrogel and still color your hair, but there are some precautions to follow.Because it includes Minoxidil, it is recommended to thoroughly cleanse your scalp before applying hair dye to ensure your scalp is free from any ROOTS Hydrogel residue.
Additionally, after coloring your hair, you should skip the next dose of Roots Hydrogel if you follow a twice-a-day regimen. If you only use ROOTS Hydrogel once a day, you can apply in the morning on the day you dye your hair and wait at least four hours before washing your hair to allow the solution to be absorbed properly.
While using ROOTS Hydrogel and chemically treating your hair is generally safe, it is advisable to use chemical hair treatments in moderation to avoid worsening hair loss.
How long can I take ROOTS Hydrogel and ROOTS Capsules?
Keeping your hair at it’s healthiest requires daily, ongoing maintenance.
It is recommended to take ROOTS Hydrogel and ROOTS Capsules for 6 months and beyond as part of your daily health regimen for visible changes and best results.
Will this stain my scalp?
Roots Hydrogel has a faint yellow tint and will NOT stain the scalp.
What is the best way to avoid growing hair in unintended places?
To apply ROOTS Hydrogel topical solution:
- Make sure your hair and scalp are completely dry before applying.
- Apply the amount, as directed on the packaging, to the area of the scalp being treated, beginning in the center of the area.
- Do not shampoo your hair for at least 4 hours after applying.
- Immediately after using ROOTS Hydrogel, wash your hands to remove any solution that may be left on them.
- Do not use a hairdryer to dry the scalp after you apply ROOTS solution.
- Blowing with a hairdryer on the scalp may make the treatment less effective.
- Allow the gel to completely dry for 2 to 4 hours after applying, including before going to bed.
- Avoid transferring the solution while wet to other parts of the body. This can occur if it gets on your pillowcase or bed linens, or if your hands are not washed after applying.

My husband has receding hairline and has been having progressive hair loss and thinning on top part of his head, it has been really affecting his self esteem. He tried many things over the counter, diet changes, supplements, but honestly nothing made any difference at all. He was using Hims program for an entire year (supplements, shampoo, spray, the whole thing) and again no change. He stopped everything except the Hims serum for the hair, still without results. As soon as I saw The Wellness Company release the Roots program and I immediately ordered it for hubby. He began taking the Roots supplement, but continued using the Hims serum for the hair only because he had a bunch left. Within 3 months of this I started to see peach fuzz where there used to be thinning hair. It has been about 6 months since then and he has very obviously noticable thickening of his hair!!! I haven't gotten him to try Roots serum yet because he is still using Hims, but the Roots supplements OBVIOUSLY help!!! I will write a follow up once he starts the serum also. Thank you everyone at the TWC! Hair loss is something that affects so many men and their confidence, we often don't even realize to what extent. So happy to finally find something that helps my hubby to start feeling good about himself again! I will try to add before and after photos later.
P.S. I also noticed general increase in energy, alertness, and agility after he started taking Roots supplements, could be unrelated, but good stuff…
